It's Difficutl to Type wit a Cat on My Lap

Those of you who are owned by cats may have the same problem...typing with a cat on your lap is difficult. At the time that I attempted to type that sentence it came out like this: Thos of hoy won cats may have the sameproblm...tuping with a cat on you lap is diffcult.

I try to find times to work on the computer when my cat is sleepingr444444444444444444[-p34 OOps, she has returned. Do you see what I mean? She will be sitting quietly, wathcing my fingers fly over the keys...and then she must help. She is not satisfied with batting at my finges but must grab them forcing a quick pat on the head. Drat that cat...she is at it again.

My husband says I work under quite a handicap...or as he puts it...handicat.

At the moment she has followed my husband upstairs, so I may have a few minutes to type without interuption. I hate to remove her from my lap as she is 22 years old and rarely asks for attention...other than times I am sitting on the couch with my laptop, fixing dinner, playing guitar or just about 90% of her waking day. She is eating the other 10%.

When she is on my lap I also have to vary the speed of my typing so as not to get a certain rythm that causes her to have a seizure. That is most distressing. Like right now...she has returned from her journey upstairs and is watching my fingers. It is always a tuess...ooops she got me again...It is always a GUESS as...hmmmm...what was I planning to write? Ah yes, I never know when she will grab a finger or steop onto the keyboard to help me...as she just did.

I think it is time that I close the laptop, sit back and give kitty the undivided attention that she feels she deserves.

  1. Too funny! I loved this slice of your life! It makes me miss my cats. Laptops were not common when I had them (so you can see it's been a while)but I could never have typed with them near. One thought she had to sit on my chest and be supported by folded arms while the other occupied my lap. Twenty-two years old? Wow! The look in her eye says "My turn NOW!"

  2. This also happens to those with small lap dogs. My dog Bella sticks to me like velcro so I also have trouble working on a laptop.

That was fun! I'm sure your cat feels she is helping. Cats rule.
